National Nurses Week: The Care That Stays With You

National Nurses Week: The Care That Stays With You

May 6–12 marks National Nurses Week, a time to recognize the registered nurses (RNs) who support Arkos Health members every day.

RN Care Managers are more than coordinators. They are partners in your health, helping you stay on track between doctor and specialist visits.

In many cases, your RN Care Manager the first to reach out, especially after a hospital stay, an ER visit, or when managing ongoing health conditions starts to feel overwhelming. With so much to keep track of, it is easy to feel unsure about what comes next.

That is where they step in, early and consistently, bringing clarity so you are not navigating it on your own.

Why Their Work Matters

  • Checking in with you
Your RN Care Manager reaches out regularly, helping you manage medications, appointments, and ongoing conditions so nothing gets missed.
  • Explaining things to help you understand
They explain diagnoses, treatments, and next steps in a clear way so you know what to do and when to do it.
  • Keeping everyone on the same page
Your nurse works with your doctors and the rest of your care team, including nurse practitioners and social services.
  • Helping plan for what comes next
From scheduling visits to reviewing medications, your follow-up stays on track.
  • Finding extra help when needed
Support is available for everyday needs like food, transportation, and home safety when needed.
  • Being there when questions come up
Between doctor visits, questions come up. Your nurse is there to talk things through, so you don’t have to figure it out alone.

What This Looks Like

One Arkos Health member was recovering at home after a serious health event.

Multiple long-term health conditions, limited mobility, and worsening wounds made daily life hard to manage. It was a lot to keep up with, and next steps were unclear.

After connecting with care management, an RN Care Manager began working with him over time.

She kept things simple, helping him understand his conditions, reviewing medications, and making sure follow-up appointments were in place.

Support also extended into the home, with the right help in place to support his recovery.

Over time, his health improved. Blood sugar stabilized, the infection came under control, and the wound healed.

Mobility and independence returned, along with confidence. Managing his health no longer felt like something he needed to face alone.

This is the difference RN Care Managers do every day. They turn a plan into meaningful progress.

We’re Here to Help

At Arkos Health, RN Care Managers stay connected with the members we serve. They work alongside nurse practitioners, social services, and your doctors to help make care easier day to day.

This National Nurses Week, we thank them for their compassion, dedication, and the care they provide.

If you are an Arkos Health member and have been contacted about care management, we encourage you to connect with your nurse. Even one conversation can make things clearer and easier to manage.
