Empowering Healthcare: Arkos’ Commitment to World Health Day 2024

Empowering Healthcare: Arkos’ Commitment to World Health Day 2024

Around the world, the right to health for millions is becoming increasingly under threat, as disasters, disease, and conflicts cause death, famine, pain, and even severe psychological distress. Along with these unfortunate events, the continuous burning of fossil fuels both drives the climate crisis while taking away our right to breathe clean air, with indoor and outdoor air pollution claiming a life every 5 seconds.

In fact, The World Health Organization (WHO) Council on the Economics of Health for All has found that at least 140 countries recognize health as a human right in their constitution. Yet, these same countries are not passing and putting into practice laws to ensure their populations are entitled to access health services.

This has led to the lamentable fact that, as of 2021, 4.5 billion people – more than half the world’s population – are not fully covered by essential health services.

In order to address these challenges, WHO has made the theme for this year’s World Health Day’ My Health, My Right’. This theme was chosen specifically to champion the right of everyone, everywhere, to have access to quality health services, education, and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination.

Taking place on April 7th every year since its inaugural celebration in 1950, World Health Day was spearheaded by WHO just years after the organization’s creation in 1946 to promote the importance of physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Since the first World Health Day, people worldwide have greatly campaigned for health issues and access to healthcare. Through seminars, workshops, and discussion forums, World Health Day is about creating awareness for the health issues of those in need and the less fortunate in poor regions around the world and reminding us to be grateful for our health and better take care of ourselves.

The day also provides a global opportunity to focus attention on important public health issues that affect the international community and gives health organizations a perfect opportunity to launch promotional programs that stay in effect long after April 7th.

Various non-governmental organizations (NGOs), such as Doctors without Borders and Save the Children, along with a variety of local health organizations, contribute to World Health Day by increasing access to healthcare services, as well as publicly advocating for vulnerable sectors of the population, and supporting health initiatives in underserved regions of the globe.

Overall, World Health Day is about creating awareness of the health issues of people in need and the less fortunate in poor regions worldwide. It reminds us to be grateful for our health and better care for ourselves.

At Arkos, we’re proud to support, promote, and play a part with our programs in this year’s World Health Day and in previous years. We advocate for the theme of ‘My Health, My Right’ by creating a patient-first world to provide a more effortless, more seamless experience for patients in what is often a complicated healthcare system.

Arkos understands there’s more to good health than just the absence of pain or disease. In line with World Health Day’s advocacy for total health awareness on all fronts, Arkos’ holistic approach simultaneously considers physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual components of health, helping patients view themselves in a whole light ensuring a truly healthy state.

This World Health Day, Arkos’ dedicated team of physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals simplifies healthcare by working in close partnership with your health insurance and providers to deliver highly personalized care. Through Arkos’ unique patient support programs, patients can take more control of their health and rights, with access to better options and valuable resources.

Ultimately, with World Health Day 2024 fast approaching, we at Arkos want to make sure everyone around the globe is provided access to the critical healthcare services they deserve. Through our patient-centered platform, Arkos streamlines the healthcare process for patients who are now looking to get the most out of their health. So, this April 7th, with the help of Arkos, we hope everyone chooses to take advantage of World Health Day and take more control over all aspects of their well-being.
